I was 26 years old. I had spent 5 years working a corporate job and had come to the slow realisation that I did not want to do this for the next 40 years.
By “this”, I meant the 9-5 (or more like 9am-6pm often followed by more emails and work in the evening). I felt shackled to my desk and my laptop. I hated having to fit in all my life tasks on the weekend and then feeling like I didn’t actually have a weekend to rest.
I wanted to buy back my time and my energy. That was, and remains, my strongest motivation for financial independence.
So I started researching and collecting advice and making a plan. I knew I couldn’t change things overnight but I could set up a system that would set me up for long-term success.
My goal is to make £4,000 per month in passive income by the time I am 45.
It has been over 6 years now and the plan is working. In fact, I am ahead of schedule.
And if I can do it, so can you!
